EDP provides a free and confidential advice and information service to drug and alcohol users, their families, partners, carers and other agencies in Dorset. You can call us on the phone, drop in to one of our clinics during opening hours, join a group or simply befriend one of our trained staff members on a one-to-one basis.

• Advice and information for individuals worried about their drug and alcohol use .
  
• Information and advice for professionals working with substance misusers.
  
• Harm reduction advice on safer injecting, wound care, overdose prevention and more.
  
• Needle exchange and free paraphernalia (vit c & citric/swabs/bins, etc.)
  
• Access to blood borne virus (BBV) testing and councelling.
  

We can help you with the following:

• Decision-making/budgeting/debt- management/housing/benefits/legal advice/communication skills/telephone/face to face/letter writing/I.T skills.
  
• Looking after your general health. (Including safer sex, alcohol misuse, nutrition etc.)
  

We give support and advice for families, friends or carers of service users:

• In groups and/or one-to-one interviews.
  

We can give advice on, or refer you to:

• Statutory agencies for prescribing/detox/rehab.
  
• The Drug Intervention Programme (DIP), if you have been arrested or spent time in prison.
  

We offer free acupuncture sessions for help with:

• Cravings for stimulants, anxiety and more.
  

We also run groups to help you with:

• Preparation for Change.
  
• Relapse Prevention.
